In 1925, the Watts-Hardy Dairy was located at 1919 16th Street. It moved to the old Stone Barn at 1248 Walnut Street in 1927 and later expanded to include 1240 and 1242 Walnut Street. Clinton M. Tyler was born in Livingston County, New York, in 1834, and his family later moved to Michigan. He attended college at Michigan Central College (now Hillsdale College), and after graduating entered the stock business, selling cattle in Illinois and Wisconsin until approximately 1860.
